Another proud record

Yes! I am proud to announce that last week, this humble blog of mine has overcome another record.

This time, it wasn't only more than 500 hits in a week time, but more than 900!!!!! And as you can see on the image bellow, more than 100 hits on one single day.

Well, I can only thank you, readers and friends, for these numbers! I try my best to keep this Spaces looking fresh, updated with varied content, sharing a little bit of me and my not-always exciting life; however, without your support and feedback, I would still be running around in circles.

Adding stuff

Hi everyone,

Yeah! I have changed the looks of my Live Spaces again.

The video cast of Talking Community is now here to be seen. I tried uploading it to the SoapBox, but I couldn't get any image. So, the YouTube version is what you will have this time.

Now, there is also a Shoutbox.
If you drop by and want to leave me some message, even not related to any of my postings, feel free to use it.

And I added earlier this week a button to Bloglines. Everything to make it easier for you to access my Spaces (and don't forget the good and old Windows Live Alerts, of course ).

I also finally took some time to update a little bit my game list on Gamespot. If you are a member there as well, send BM2 a message, ok? ;-)

Updating "My Writings"

This is going to be short, but I wanted to share with you that I finally updated the "My Writings" tab with the articles I have written during my "disappearance".

It is true that I was not on time with my Editorials (I am still behind schedule to be sincere), however, I did make some stuff and had them posted.

So, I would like to ask you to check them out when you have the time (I mean, if you haven't done it already) and let me know what you think.

One of the articles is Leaving the Cables Behind that was published on XUG's page on the Xbox.com Community site. The other is Handhelds Are Fun! published on the Gameinatrix.

That is what I call an extreme make-over. lol
It took me some time to figure out a sweet font color but I hope you all will like the results.
Let me try to explain things here now...

Beginning with the begin...
Remember that on my previous blog I mentioned something about the mascots on ICandee's and Noble Downfall's Spaces? (by the way, if you haven't visited their Spaces yet, you don't know what you are missing.)
So, thanks to ICandee, I got in touch with Anna, the artist of who made their mascots.
We have exchanged some emails and all I can say is that every single word ICandee talks about her is true!
Anna is a extremely competent and skilled professional. If you all saw the "sketch" I sent her, pictures, drawings and all the sort of crazy ideas I had about mine, you wouldn't believe it.
She did use my suggestions, but above all, she brought her artistic insight and made it something I am delighted with!

Let me explain about the mascot itself.
Since I love Anime, Anna suggested immediately to have an Anime-like one.
Do you remember those ears of mine? Everybody thinks that they are bunny ears, but they are cat's?
Yeah! Those...
They are from Moonphases's character Hazuki (do you recognize her clothes?).
I asked for a mascot with elements related to games, Love and Angel and Anna did that cool image.
Now tell me: isn't she fantastic?!?
I am leaving a permanent link to Anna's site on my newly added Must-Visit Sites module. Do not hesitate to visit and check out her work and goods.

To match her drawing, I made everything purple here and the music you listen on the backgrouns is the opening theme of Moonphase (Dimitri From Paris' Neko Mimi Mode).
I also added/removed some modules to give fresh air to my Spaces.

New stuff on my MSN Spaces

As Xbox.com is down now, I decided working on this page here.
I have made some changes to make the interaction and administration of the blog easier and I hope you will like it too.

First of all, I enabled the MSN Alerts for the site.
In the beginning, I thought it wasn't really necessary, but now that my postings are not that constant anymore (some days with more than one and others of silence), I realize I could make my friends' life easier with the Alerts.
Once you sign it up, you will be receiving alerts everytime I update the site.
You can choose to get them by email, Messenger and/or portable phone.
I hope I can make the life of the busy bees out there, like me, a little bit easier without us losing contact.
My friend Noble Downfall offers this feature for a while already and I have just signed up to receive his alerts as well.
If anyone else has or decides adding it, please let me know it, all right?

I removed the second HTML sandbox I had with my music chart.
Nothing against it, but the problem about having two sandboxes here (and I have mentioned it sometimes before) is that it takes ages to have everything set as it used to be after any small change on the page.
Everytime I made any modification here (whether adding or removing modules or working on the lay-out of the Spaces), I had to remove both sandboxes and add it all over again. And believe me, it never works on your first attempt.
Since I am trying to save as much time as possible, I realized that removing it was a wise decision.

To compensate the removed music chart, I added a RSS feed to my recently listened tracks.
The information comes from Last.fm as well, so even though it looks different, the results are the same. And it is in the same place where the track chart used to be: below my blog postings.
Other RSS feeds I added today where the ones to Xbox's E3 Coverage (that is to help my visitors and myself as well, since I have fresh information on my page and XUG's News.

Besides that, I didn't remove anything.
If you are accessing this blog during the maintenance/update of Xbox.com, you won't be able to see their E3 feeds, my gamertag or my recently played games.
Once their site is available again, you will be able to see this info here as well.
Some modules I changed place, but they are still there.

A last note is about my article The New Gamer Girl.
Yesterday, I found out that it is now the featured article on the Xbox.com community page.
Since the site is down at the moment, I will share with you the screenshot I took of it yesterday.
I have been so excited about it all that I could hardly sleep last night.

I hope that later today we will have a lot to talk about Xbox.com and Xbox Live today's update.

This morning I realized that I was indeed having problems with the previous song on my Spaces.
It never played entirely, so I just dropped it.
The new one is also from the OST of the game Rumble Roses though.

Spaces in different languages

Before, when I wanted to help someone with hints about the Spaces, I always had the problem with the terms used in the site in different languages.
Mine is set to Dutch, so sometimes it was a little bit confusing when I tried to explain an English speaker about the steps s/he was supposed to follow to do something.
Even though it is not a feature, I would like to share some address with which you can access your Spaces in different languages.
It has proved to be quite helpful to me lately.
All one has to do is using the following address to log in their Spaces in the correpondent languages. (source The Space Craft)

Since the WMP is working

I think it was really a problem with the host of the music file this morning.
I will be posting today how to add the WMP to the Spaces.
It is also a feature quite popular by now, but one never knows...
The source was The Space Craft.

Log into Passport and Edit your Space.
In the Address bar of your web browser add the text “&powertoy=musicvideo” to the end of the displayed URL.
Click the Go button next to your web browser address bar.
Once the page has finished reloading, click on the Customize tab in your Space.
In the Modules drop down menu in the Customize tab there should be a listing for PowerToy: Windows Media Player. Click the word Add next to it and then click the Save button.

A excellent site to host files is http://filelodge.com/.
I use it mainly to my music files. For the images, I prefer http://ripway.com/ (I didn't mention it last time).
Remember to check the extensions of the files you want to add to your WMP. Not all of them are "welcome".

Problem with WMP

I don't know if it was just my bad luck, but when I tried to check whether the new music was playing on my Spaces, it suddenly stopped.
Maybe it has to do with some hosting problem, but if I check more than once, the hit will be added in the counter (no, I am not a Counter Ho... ).
So, I would like to ask you to let me know whether you can listen to it or not. Remember that it works only with the IE.

Custom HTML Power Toy

It is fun, but despite being asked so many times about how I did, I never really post it here.
Since I am trying to get organized, I will start adding all the info I know/learn about pimping Spaces.
I start with the Custom HTML Power Toy.
The fun about it is that you can use its sandbox to add a sig (like I did) or any other customized HTML tag.
It does have a characteres limit, so don't be frustated if you can't simply add everything you had in mind.
This step-by-step instruction was taken from The Space Craft.

Log into Passport and Edit your Space.
