New gadgets

The Soul Calibur IV fever just increases every day. I still feel way far from the level I could call competitive, but I am not giving it up at all.

Last week, I received my copy of the official Soul Calibur IV guide. Needless to say that I have been devouring it since day. I wish I could learn by osmosis or anything similar. Amy is a new character, so it feels like that there is a long way ahead of me before I become a badass with her.

The other news is that my glasses are ready and I finally picked my iPhone.

Even though I do not need any corrective glasses, due to the constant use of computers (at work and at home) and the LCD TV for gaming, I was getting constant headaches and sore eyes. I was not even sleeping well anymore. I was really glad when they called me last Friday saying that I could pick up my glasses. I am not exaggerating when I say that I feel a lot better now. It has been only a little more than a day, but I don't have pain anymore and have been sleeping like a baby.

I still have to wait until the 10th of September to start using the 3G features of my iPhone, but I am already more than excited about it so far. Mine is a white one. It is awesome to be able to be in touch with everyone all the time. Mainly for me whose friends are at least on the other side of the ocean...

I hope you are all enjoying yourselves and having a great time!

*cheers*

Migraine + Shopping

I woke up this morning with a major migraine.
I guess one can call it a vacation syndrome. Whenever I have some kind of break, I get sick somehow. It happens since I was in basic school. It is too late to have hopes that it will ever change.
I had to take two pills against migraine and even though I can't say that I am 100% in shape, I feel much better now.

Since a week or so ago, there are sales in Belgium, so I am using most of my freetime practicing my shopping skills. And not forgetting about my gaming activities, I got myself a new headset to use when I play my beloved Diablo II. It is a Skullcandy. And of course, I got the pink one.
It fits sweet and I am about to test it.

Wishing you all a great time.

We love gadgets!!!

Or should I say: A lot of people love gadgets!

Maybe you see it as a new fever, but to me, this always growing passion for gadgets comes with the fact that nowadays, there are more options and variety on the market. In any electronics store, you can always find something that interests you.

I have writter about my passion for gadgets and new cool stuff many times again. I have a wishlist that only grows longer (but unfortunately, I am not any rich to keep up with it). And guess what? I am not alone!

There is this article that I have just came accross on about how much adults invest on electronics every year in the U.S.A.. The amount of $1,200 per year surprised even me, but I must admit that I prefer not keeping tracking of my expenses to keep it cool. Perhaps, I should start following it closer by.

Anyway, I like the idea of adults, and not just teenagers, being The key consumers on the electronics market and my reasons are very simple. The more is talked about us, the more the whole industry, which in my opinion also includes the gaming one, feels affected by us, the stronger we become in part of the decision making process. They will have to start taking more and more i consideration our needs and desires. With that, not only they win, but all of us who have been investing in this semi-black-whole so far without getting the attention and respect we deserve.

If you don't trust someone than 30, I think you should change your mind and start asking her/him for some advice. ;-)

Grumpy Girl

I am in the mood to get T-shirts with a message. Maybe because it is getting close to summer (in fact, today we are having summer weather already here), but the thing is that I want to deliver a message with whatever I wear.

I have recently bought a , I am waiting for one from JINX any time soon (I'll talk more about my chosen one once I have it here) and now, I have just found a sweet that has been added to my wishlist.

It is not just a T-shirt, but a character that can be considered a representation of myself. Her name is . My dearest readers and beloved friends, you simply cannot imagine how Angel looks like and acts out in the morning. It is a scary sight. Believe me...

Of course that I am polite and I don't go smacking people on the face just because they look at me, however, don't expect much of a conversation before my morning coffee and it starting to show some effect. I look exactly like the Grumpy Girl.

Unfortunately, they don't ship to Belgium. I will try contacting them, but surely not on a Monday morning. ;-)

Xbox 360 Laptop mk2

How would it be if you had a laptop that looked like a 360? I would love it! I remember seeing on a community site last year one similar and I got really excited about it.

Soon Engadget is going to be showing you and all Xbox 360 fans how to build their own machines.

There is nothing on the inside of the laptop yet (it is coming up soon though), but you can already check some pictures and videos on their site.

Any candidates?

Zune 2.0 and Flash Zune Details Leaked

News as they were published on Zune Scene:

April 10 2007 - The chances of a Zune Scene editor running into a Microsoft Zune employee in the wild are pretty slim, but recently the stars were aligned and I got the inside scoop on the Zune 2.0 and also the flash based Zune coming out in 2007. I will attempt to preserve the identity of the Microsoft employee, he had no idea I write for Zune Scene, no idea at all. The whole conversation occurred on a business trip, you see, we Zune Scene editors have day jobs and are hard to spot in the wild also.
When I asked the guy where he worked he said Microsoft. That got my attention so I asked what he did, the answer was: "Zune". He gave his name and title which I will withhold. So I gave him a barrage of questions and here's what I found out:
Zune 2.0 and a smaller flash based Zune will be sold this year. He would not tell me the marketing names but referred to them as the big one and little one. The hard drive version looks like the generation 1 Zune, but is thinner. It has a larger hard drive and still uses the doubleshot. The flash based player he said is about "3 by 1 1/4 by 1/4 inches" in size. It is video capable and he said the screen covers about 75% of the front, similar to the hard drive Zune. The flash player has Wi-Fi and also uses a double shot. We discussed colors, he said there were several but did not disclose them. He had some interesting points about the clamshells saying that they can't be opened easily like the current Zune. Both devices have completed the design phase, although some last minute minor tweaks to the hardware will occur. When I asked about memory capacity he said "you have to beat the competition you know" he also said the flash memory fills the smaller device from top to bottom. Surprisingly he gave some hard numbers: 2.4 million next gen Zunes will be fabricated prior the 2007 holiday season. About 2/3 of them are the smaller flash units. " A new building is currently under construction in Dao Min China, next to the one that makes the XBOX 360" he said. In Zune Scene's opinion, based on that statement, it appears the Zune 2.0 will not be another Toshiba Gigabeat based device.
I also asked about the Zune Phone and he changed the subject and that pretty much ended the conversation unfortunately. So there you have it, the first details of the Zune 2.0 and flash device.

I loved reading it. I can't wait to get a Zune (a pink one, of course) and enjoy it.

Xbox 360 monitor

I try to follow everything Xbox-related as possible. Of course that in my search for gadgets and stuff, I frequently come across with products that might not be gaming-related, but that catch my eyes as well (by the way, I bought a couple of weeks ago and I love it).

One of the cool Xbox 360's add-ons I have heard about during this year's GDC was the Xbox 360 Monitor. How cool is that? You have a monitor of the size of your Xbox 360 that you take with you to (almost) anywhere you want.

I know it is not that simple to travel with a 360 (it is not a portable console, which means that it was not build mobile), but it opens doors for other possibilities, and despite the price, might be a smart and easy-to-use solution for (small) lan-parties, for instance.

As usual, we Europeans will have to choose between waiting endless until it comes out here, or simply pay a lot of money of important tax. Even though my wishlist is kind of crowded (and expensive) at the moment, I will surely think about it with care.

Playing Mario Kart in 3D

No, I don't mean a game in 3D, but a real circuit on your living room with Mario and Yoshi disputing every inch of the track. It is all possible now!

The name of the toy is Nintendo Mario Kart DS Track Race Set. This official Nintendo toy brings all the fun of the DS title to your hands. And the price is as friendly as our Italian plumber: only $29.

Are you ready for this?

Get rid of that stress

I must admit that the price scares off a bit. Paying $300 for a gadget that may sound a little too good to be true, might end up cause some stress itself. However, this one does seem to be a real thing

The whole process takes 15 minutes and consists in 3 steps:

  1. Placing the finger on the sensor
  2. Synchronizing one's breathing to the person's BreathWave
  3. You are relaxed

I must say that I hope you won't need it.

WM6 + Vista Gagdets = good stuff

Some weeks ago, . My friends, my next mobile HAS TO run it. I don't care how much it will cost or whatever. I simply have to have to get it because it is really hot! And the hotness doesn't end here.

Remember Laura Foy? This week, she made a video blog with Mel Sampat from Microsoft showing this sweet new project that will allow Windows Mobile 6 users to install Vista gagdets on their mobile. Isn't it great?

It is true that the project is still in its early phases, so don't expect too much of looks now. One thing that is interesting though is how easy all the installation is done. It is nothing more than copying files from your PC to your mobile.

If you want to check more details on her interview, and watch her entry. Awesome stuff to say the least.

This one goes for the coffee lovers

I know there are exceptions, but many gamers are geeks, many geeks are workaholics and many workaholics are coffee are addicted to coffee. Aren't I right? ;-)

I have a problem in the morning. I am most of the time the first to arrive at the office, which means that if anyone needs anything urgently before 8AM, chances are they will look for me.
Not that it is much of a problem, but one of the first things I do when I get to work (after turning my PC on, of course) is getting myself a cup of warm and strong coffee to wake up.

Needless to say that I never drink it warm because of all the things that I end up having to do.

Now can you imagine having 4 extra USB ports and keeping your coffee warm with the same device? Sweet, isn't it? And it is possible with .

After it, coffee and work will not be a cold relationship anymore.

Looking good behind the picture

I don't need to tell you how much I like pink, do I?

Well, I have been looking for a new camera. Not that mine is bad, but it consumes a lot of battery. I do use rechargeable ones, but for longer sessions, they are fast done. It is not fun, mainly if you think that it does take a while to recharge them and you cannot really do it anywhere.

Surfing around I found this beauty:

This baby will be available in March at the price of $400 and is called T-100. It has a 3-inch LCD screen and Carl Zeiss 5x optical zoom lens, which is equal to say that it is not only a pretty face.

If the price sounds too much for you, just pick the T-20 model. It has (only) 3x optical zoom lens (model of the picture), but it won't miss the chance show your style.

You might say: Angel, this is Sony! Well, as long as Microsoft doesn't have their own cameras, I am not commiting any sin. And it is PINK!

Changing completely from subject... I hope you have liked the new looks of my Spaces.
I just want to keep things looking as fresh as the content. ;-)
